Hello Dear friends– and Happy Thanksgiving!
“Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done.” (Psalm 105:1)
At Home of Faith the girls were showing off the holiday skirts that their house mother, Nice, had sewn for them.
(Left to right are: Robin, Rachel, Rebecca, Raina, Ruth, and Rhoda) “I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!
For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness.” (Isaiah 61:10)
At Home of Comfort, the whole group spent an evening making Christmas cards for their sponsors. That is Andy, our new volunteer at top left. “For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands” (Deut 2:7)
The fall rice harvest has been completed after several long days of work. Even the dogs spent time in the field.
“Those who work their land will have plenty of food,” (Prov 28:19)
After the harvest, the boys at Home of Comfort enjoyed a field-trip to a beautiful resort. “You see me, whether I am working or resting;
you know all my actions.” (Psalm 139:3)
After many days of rain earlier this month, reaching mountain villages was only possible by motorcycle. We’re thankful for dryer weather.
“Praise God forever and ever, because he has wisdom and power. He changes the times and seasons of the year.” (Dan 2:20-21)
Though the rains have stopped, roads in Thailand can still be dangerous. Here a military truck smashed a small pickup in the road beside our boys dorm. “I will say to the LORD, ‘You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you.’” (Psalm 91:2)
Please pray for one another during these busy holidays. Pray for safe travels and joyful celebrations. May God bless you even more generously than you have blessed us with your friendship.
Special note: Though Shirley & I will continue to be involved as mentors and supporters, the daily management-leadership of Faithful Heart ministries is being entrusted to Matthew Pound—Please pray for him. He and his family have become very dear to us as we’ve worked together the past 4 years.
Also, Shirley & I are wrestling with practical/logistical questions about relocating to the USA. Because shipping is so expensive, we’re repeating the process we went through coming to Thailand: sorting through our belongings to see what we can take back and what must be left behind. Pray that God will give us clear heads and clean hearts to do this “sorting”.
Blessed are you in Christ
